M17 Contemporary Art center in Kyiv presents a large retrospective exhibition of paintings by Max Vityk. The Exposition includes over 70 works from the most productive artist's period since the beginning of his creative way. This exhibition is the most ambitious project of Max Vityk.
Max Vityk is an American of Ukrainian descent who came to Ukraine in early 2006. Whether Ukrainian roots awaked or our scenic landscapes provided inspiration, but while being in Ukraine, Vityk started to paint a lot. And does it brilliantly! During the past several years, he has held a series of solo exhibitions in Kiev’s famous galleries. Most recently, Vityk participated in the main Ukrainian Fair "Art-Kyiv" in Arsenal, and published a representative catalog of his works, which has been highly appraised by the leading art critics in Ukraine.
His solo exhibition in Lviv Palace of Arts in 2010 has become one of the main events of the Days of American Culture in Ukraine. In a short time, Max Vityk has become one of the leading artists of Ukraine to integrate the best traditions of American abstract expressionism with Ukrainian sensitivity to color and texture.
Among others, M17 represents a new series of large canvases "Hallucinations in Zasupoivka''. 20 new paintings will see the world for the first time. This large retrospective exhibition of Max Vityk in Kyiv also opens a cycle of international exhibitions of the master.
